Exploring Mind-Body Relationships And Contextual-bEhavioural interventions in illness

(Inês Trindade’s group)

The EMBRACE Lab (Exploring Mind-Body Relationships And Contextual-bEhavioural interventions in illness) develops multidisciplinary research on clinical/health psychology. We focus on contextual behavioural science (or third-wave Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, compassion-based interventions) and behavioural medicine topics, in particular psycho-gastroenterology and psycho-oncology. We are dedicated to research related to the determinants of psychological and physical health/illness, and to the development and evaluation of face-to-face and digital interventions aiming to improve quality of life, psychosocial functioning, intensity and interference of physical symptoms, among other health outcomes.

You can find our ongoing projects below.

Evaluating the Mind programme, a face-to-face ACT and compassion-based intervention for women with breast cancer.
